At Janelle Imports, our mission is to offer the people of the United States a centuries old tradition of artistically crafted polish stoneware while supporting the local economy of Boleslawiec, Poland.

Janelle Imports is especially connected to the tradition of artistically crafted polish stoneware and to Boleslawiec, as it is the birthplace of Elle Englander, president and founder of Janelle Imports.

Elle and her family lived in Boleslawiec until she was 16 years old. Her parents worked for a combined 25 years at Boleslawiec largest and oldest stoneware factory. In December of 1982, as a result of a political instability, Elle’s family was forced to leave Poland. They found their new home in the United States of America.

In 1991, after the fall of Communism, Elle’s father, Ryszard Los, returned to Boleslawiec. He has been actively involved in numerous projects to help Poland’s emerging business community to adapt to a free market economy and to promote Boleslawiec business throughout Europe and the United States of America. Janelle Imports is proud and dedicated to work together with our friends and family in Poland.

Elle Englander founded Janelle Imports with the support of MANUFAKTURA, and Janelle’s loyal customers in United States. Her family and friends have all helped to achieve Janelle’s mission.
